Welcome to... The Lake Shack
What once was the Snow Lake Grocery evolved into a bar and grill in the mid-1980s when owner Hap Salfrank created Hap’s Tap. When Hap and Carol Salfrank sold the store, it became Border Cantina then was sold again and was renamed Snow Lake Lodge before Dave and Sue Ellis bought the establishment in 2002 and changed the name to Dave’s Lake Shack.

Story
Get to Know Us
Over the years, many changes were made, including adding a heated outdoor area, a gift shop and a dock that provides access from Snow Lake, which is part of the Lake James chain of lakes. The bar has a feel of the lakes and the tropics. In 2017 Dave and Sue decided it was time to chase the sun all year long and began traveling the world! There are legendary tails of the epic parties thrown and friendships formed!
Fast forward to 2023. Ownership changed hands in May and the new team is committed to bringing back the magic of “The Shack.” Many thanks to Dave and Sue who have served as invaluable consultants and supporters as we embarked on this exciting adventure!
Mexican is back on the menu as well as are many customer favorites from the past.
The Shack is now open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner (starting at 8AM daily).
